Hello, Moises! Sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation. Have you bought a guitar already? I got my guitar at Perfect Pitch in Park Square, for P12,000, 12 months to pay. There should be a similar promo running right now if you're planning to buy the same guitar. You can also wait for it to go on sale, I think it goes to as low as P9,000.

I'm really happy with the performance of the Squier. It was ready to play right out of the box, and after a year and a half of moderate use, I've yet to adjust anything. The neck is still straight as ever, and the string action/play has been unchanged. I like the Squier so much that I don't want to change guitars ever. I've played even more expensive guitars like a mid-price Ybanez and an MIJ Fender Strat, but I still like the Squier best. The Ibby had a narrow neck (I have big hands), and the Strat was great but too expensive (I heard it was somewhere in the range of 100k).

There are a lot of choices in the 12k price range, but I chose to go with Fender because I've always liked the strat shape & sound. Here's a link that might help you decide: http://talk.philmusic.com/board/index.php/topic,62815.0.html Check the site out, it's indispensable to us budding musicians. You'll learn a lot, and the classifieds section is the best there is. You can buy quality 2nd hand stuff there for a song if you're fast enough. Quality and price are great because the peeps here are honest and they really want to help other musicians out. There's a community feel to the site, and they're really helpful even with the stupid questions (no flamers!).

I only have one stompbox for now, but I have my eye out for a Zoom G1.x. I'm currently using a Behringer Guitar GDI21. It's basically a guitar amp modeler, so it's very versatile. It's like having multiple effects in one stompbox. Check it out: http://behringer.com/GDI21/index.cfm?lang=ENG

As for the Boss OD, of course, you can't go wrong with a Boss pedal. It's too expensive, though. You can buy a Boston Engineering OD for around P1,300! The sound difference is barely perceivable, even less so when you're rocking out with a band! Don't mind those snooty guitarists who look down on inexpensive pedals & effects, as long as you're happy with the sound, f*ck them! Isn't that what rock is about anyway? :-)

Rock on, bro! And keep me posted on your guitar buying!
